Notes for Evaluation 1 (Conventions of real media products) 

Comparison between colour schemes

  • K! uses White/Black/Red whereas UP uses Blue/Yellow/Grey/White

Similarity between UP cover and K! cover (Internet example)
  • Layout : Skyline/ Bottom Border/Placement of barcode
Differences between UP cover and K! cover (Internet example)

  • Mastheads : K! has a single color and shattered glass effect whereas UP uses two colors and a fade between both of them
  • Layout : Placement of cover line K! has a 2 cover lines whereas UP uses multiple
  • Cover Line Placement : K! is in the middle whereas UP is placed on the bottom left.
  • Shot of model: K! uses medium close up whereas UP uses a medium shot.

Overall improvement – show comparison between college magazine and music magazine
Show differences between the college mag cover and music mag cover  : use of illustrator, different shapes used ,  model and shot
Show differences between the college contents page and the music contents page: layout, conventions used.
